Catechists/Catequistas
A Catechist is a person who facilitates the Process of Faith Formation, first by echoing the Word of God in his or her own life, and second by helping others to do so. (Catechist’s Toolbox)
As catechists, we help our brothers and sisters, children, youth, and adults to grow and mature in the faith that they received on the day that they were baptized.
Levels for helping others with the process of growing in the Faith:
- Pre-Communion and First Communion
- Confirmation I and II (9th – 12th Grades)
- Rite of Christian Initiation for Children (RCIC): 7 years old and up
- Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults (RCIA): 18 years old and up
- Pre-Baptismal sessions for parents and godparents, for the baptism of children younger than 7 years old
- Sessions for adults who may need to complete their Christian Initiation
Help is always needed – Would you like to help as a Catechist?
